OK, it's an 85" 4K OLED set with an amazingly ugly stand that looks like something cooked up in a high school shop class. Where do you get 4K programming to watch?

4K programming will come from internet boxes that either deliver 2160p
or 4K downsampled to 1080p 4:4:4 or RGB for existing HDTVs. Even if the
color is downsampled the increase in color pallet will make a difference.

And if a show isn't produced in 4K it's done in a professional HD format
(4:2:2 if not 4:4:4) that when ported to 4K will look better than its
showing in 720 or 1080.

As for 4KTVs they will make 1080 and 720 look better in the same way
HDTVs make SD channels look better than watching SD on a 480i display.

No chicken & egg here, each piece is an improvement on its own.

I said, read the comments ....

//My wife and I bought this after selling our daughter Amanda into
white slavery. We actually got a refurbished. It's missing the remote,
but oh well-- for $10K off, I can afford a universal, right? The
picture is amazing. I've never seen the world with such clarity.

Amanda, if you're reading this, hang in there, honey! We'll see you in
a year.//

//I was going to fund my daughters wedding in Hawaii, but I figured
this Samsung TV would last much longer.//

//I am coming back from the future to write this review, and to let
everyone know you can buy this TV for $699 in 2015. It still looks
great though. //

//It makes those abused animal commercials with the Sarah McLachlan
music playing so much sadder when the one-eyed pug is 4 feet tall. //

//I bought it for porn. But I can't afford the porn now.
It's been a big mirror in my little apartment.//

//I stared at this tv too long on Amazon that Amazon's predictive
algorithms assumed I was going to buy it. 30 minutes later a giant
drone burst through my living room wall. Amazon is amazing! Just in
time for the Super Bowl! I can't decide which overlords I prefer,
Google's bestial patrolling robots or Amazon's future predicting
flying drones//

Point well taken :-)

I had to close the site, though, because I was laughing too much.
