They just raised my monthly bill about $40...to $136. Now, I do not have any premium channels, but I do have the internet, which is about $47 of that figure. I am sick and tired of having to 'argue' about these increases that they want to shove down one's throat, and in my case every 6 months. They always tell me that I was being charged for a special promotion that they offered. I am stuck with the internet, but I am sure, if i cancel my TV cable, they would start doing the same thing to my internet. heaven help us subscribers if the Comcast/TW deal goes through...remember the TW/AOL mess? At this rate, if nothing gets done, that 136 will eventually go higher and higher...when does this stop? I live in NYC, so I have no problem with my local channels with an OTA, and probably get better reception at that...but for the 2 or 3 cable channels that I will miss makes it hard to keep this up. We all have our limitations on certain products...food, car, phone, vacations and etc...

Just get DIRECTV® T-W sucks even if they were way cheaper than sat. TV
it'd be worth the change.

That's nothing new. When my contract for internet only expired. They
notified me of an increase too. So I called then and told them I just
wanted the basic internet for $14.95. They tried to talk me out of it for
several minutes, and then told me I could keep the same rate if I wanted
to keep the same speed I had. I agreed, and that was that. Surprisingly
though my speed has actually gone up from 16/1 mbps to 58/6 mbps for the
same $36 a month. I'll probably have to go through the same thing this
march when my contract is up again. I hate these stupid games they play,
but they all do it. At least TWC notified me first, Verizon just went up
automatically, and then screwed me over when I canceled their service.
They actually screwed themselves since I'll never use another Verizon
service as long as I live.

Its a monopoly in my area...some say get Fios, but they are more expensive and they do the same thing as TW. I just saw an ad from TW that says for $89 get their internet, cable and phone. I don't even have their phone and asked to pay $136. It seems the longer you stay as a subscriber the more you pay and the less you get...where is the logic? I need them at least for the internet, but again its them or Verizon. I had Verizon and had lots of problems with their internet. Their tech told me that I was too close to their transmitter base and that is why I was having problems.

trust me, you won't miss them.

I recognize that I would like to see Mythbusters again, but I honestly
don't miss it.

Yep, it will keep going up. ~$200 for the triple bundle package in my
rural area. I wish I could get all OTA channels and another affordable
fast ISP. :(

That's because it is a promotion. I have Brighthouse and get on a new
promotion every year. My mom has Comcast/Xfinity and I do the same for
her. The last time I called Xfinity (about a year ago) they put her on a
2 year promo. It's a game I'm willing to play to keep my bill down.
