I have roof mounted antennas for 2 antenna distributions in my house.

The 6-way splitter inserts 9db loss so I added a 10db antenna Amp commonly
found in the TV sections of hardware/home electronic stores.

Needless to say, they are losing more than they gain, so I opened them up (2
different models)
I find power supply components (transformer, diodes, electrolytics) and lots
of coils,. disc caps and even a few ferrite transformers.

I don't see ONE transistor or IC

How do these AMPLIFY? My 1960's Electronics skills are leaving me clueless on
how this is supposed to work.

Any ideas?

Replace the Six Way Splitter with:

Channel Master CM3418 8 Port Distribution Amplifier (I have one)

For more help from the experts (You may have other problems).

Thank you for the CM3418 Tip, I had looked at that but shied as it was to wide
to fit into my Media Center Panel with a 'safe' RG6 bending radii .

FWIW The reason for 2 systems is Location.Location.Location. :)
2 major clusters of station directions, almost 90 deg apart 305-310 (25-69
mi) and 67-70 (15 mi) mgn
