I know the situation by now ..argue with them and threaten to end your membership and they resort back to the original fee. Its a cat and mouse thing. Late last November i did just that and they promised to scale back my fees. Since then, with out any warning, they have added almost $13...who knows if i leave it at that, what the final price would come to by the end of the year. Besides that, I am also getting my internet with them. The longer you stay as a member, the more you pay...shouldn't it be the opposite? Newcomers for lesser fees get the same thing...cause they are newcomers. Does anyone know or recommend an internet company besides Verizon in the Brooklyn, new york area? Not interested in any cable company internet, besides TW has a monopoly in my area for both...with the exception of Verizon internet.

I don't live there, I just did a web search. I don't know how viable the
others are for you.

Same old story, threaten to leave and maybe they'll cut you a break.

The "game" is to get on a promotion every year. I've been doing that for
at least 7 years. Yeah, it's a PITA to have to call them every 11 months
and see what promotions they have for the services that you currently
have, but it saves you a lot of money.

Check http://broadbandreports.com for more options. I am stuck for
Internet service since Verizon doesn't offer DSL and FIOS. I don't want
mobile data plans since trhey are capped and expensive. Same for slower
satellite Internet services. Dial-up, hahha. I am stuck with TWC. :(

Wait, why are you posting in HDTV newsgroup if this is about Internet?
TV should be easy if you want over the air (antenna), satellite, etc.

Allah's Apostle said, "Once while a prophet amongst the prophets was
taking a rest underneath a tree, an ant bit him. He, therefore, ordered
that his luggage be taken away from underneath that tree and then
ordered that the dwelling place of the ants should be set on fire. Allah
sent him a revelation: 'Wouldn't it have been sufficient to burn a
single ant (that bit you)?'" --Translation of Sahih Bukhari, Book 54,
